PAV Haulage Ltd is looking for an experienced Transport Operator to join our growing operations team based at our London Gateway depot.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced container haulage business, where you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the day-to-day movement of our fleet while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, compliance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating daily container transport operations.
• Allocating and managing work for drivers.
• Liaising with drivers, customers, ports and internal departments.
• Monitoring vehicle movements and responding to operational issues.
• Managing bookings through the London Gateway Vehicle Booking System (VBS).
• Updating and maintaining transport records using Fargo TOPS.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Maintaining compliance with transport legislation and company procedures.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Previous experience within the UK container haulage industry.
• Experience using the London Gateway Vehicle Booking System (VBS).
• Previous experience using a Transport Management System (TMS).
• Experience with Fargo TOPS or a comparable Transport Management System.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with drivers, customers and colleagues.
• The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Transport Manager CPC qualification.
• Two or more years’ experience within transport or container logistics.
• Previous experience working in a high-volume transport operation.
• Knowledge of UK drivers’ hours, tachograph regulations and transport compliance.
• Experience working with other UK container ports, including Felixstowe and Southampton.

Working Pattern
Full-time, permanent position.
Monday to Friday.
Fixed 10-hour shift: 4:00am – 2:00pm, or 8:00am – 6:00pm
Participation in a shared on-call rota for weekends and Bank Holidays is required.
